This image was one of the 19 selected images shown in my “Images of Faith and Devotion” exhibition (On view July 2 – 31st at the “Flying Leap Art Space” in Fairfield, Iowa). I can’t thank people enough for the wonderful reception I received at the opening.
These young monks are sweeping the temple floor, where they had been sitting for an hour-long morning meditation, before breakfast. It was a magical gift to visit (and meditate in) this remote buddhist monastery along the border of Tibet, Bhutan, and India’s far Northeast Province. (photo taken in September 2007)
