Inle Lake is a famous shallow lake in the mountainous eastern part of Burma (Bordering Laos and Thailand) It is no deeper than 6 feet, so a traditional form of fishing involves putting a weir down from the surface to the bottom and netting fish inside! (A Weir is a ribbed-cage used for trapping fish) Unlike most of the fisherman, this one was wearing traditional clothing allowing a glimpse of the past. (photo taken in August 2009)
